Kyle Vince Maldunno

Vince

male

Character's Date of Birth:
august second

Character's Age:
eighteen

Character's Home-Town:
New York City, New York

Character's High School Year:
Senior

Character's Occupation:
Unemployed

Character's Appearance:
Vince is pretty physically fit for his age, having played most sports and just being a hyperactive kid as a child had him running around all the time. He stands at about five feet, ten inches tall and though looking fairly lanky he makes up for it by having an athletic and toned body. Yes that does include a six-pack. Being the food junkie he is, fat just does not gain on his body fast enough to change his lanky figure. Not that he is complaining of course. His metabolism is one of that would make most of the female population jealous, but in his case, other guys wouldn't care as much as females would.

Vince knows that girls like to look at him and just to tease them, on one of those hot days his shirt would be found in his hand and not on his upper body having them stare from a distance or even up close.

Although being athletic in his nature his skin has not made as much contact with the sun as he would have liked. Instead of being a nice tan he is more on the lighter side, not white but slightly brown. This contradicts his chocolate brown eyes, as described by others. His hair morphs every so often to whatever he feels like. Sometimes it is found short and messy with gel on the top, or when it is of some considerable length, he just leaves it as it is and it falls constantly into his eyes having people nag him for a haircut.

But generally, as he wears it nowadays, it is in that region between short and long, falling to about his ears or a tad bit longer, the brown locks falling into his darker eyes, a good match if you ask him. And as for his facial hair, that varies often too. Sometimes he feels like not shaving and next thing you know he has a light goatee, which he usually has. Along with a few tattoos he has acquired in a few years, he has a few earrings, including a small gold hoop on his right ear.

Without his shirt on one would have to look closely to see the many physical scars that his body holds, each with a similar memory to it. But if you ask him about it he will not tell you anything. Of those many scars he has, a few stand out quite a bit and both him a little. He has one on his left shoulder blade that runs diagonally from the shoulder to his back, it’s relatively small but its size contributes to an injury he received there a while back. He wont tell you about that either. In fact he has two other scars that are from various injuries, another on his right thigh and a thin line running about five inches on his left side.

Character's Personality:
Vince's personality can be generally described as choleric all around. His emotions are generally the same most of the time, though can turn negative with the whole too much of a good thing deal. His attitude is very much "The Doer" type and Vince is very dynamic and active. Being the rebel that he is, generally he is lazy but at times he has this compulsive need for change and he is somewhat strong-willed. The stoic character he carries with him is unemotional and he is very independent. Generally speaking he has little need for friends, though he prefers the social life, and his flaws include the inability to apologize or admit his wrongs. Most people speculate that if he were to have children he would send them into some kind of depression.

His life wasn't perfect and he had always realized that, and seeing other people's families didn't help. It fueled his swinger habits and commitment took time for him to develop, especially on the topic of his love life. Vince was good with people; if he just talked more he probably would have been the perfect used car salesman. But he didn't want to do that too much, unless a girl was involved. But in an uncomfortable situation he just has this shell that his father helped form that just blocked emotion from Vince except for anger and things like that. Otherwise Vince is ambitious when he wants to be and there is no trace of a conscience anywhere in him, allowing him to really do whatever he wants. Even as a child no one told him not to play with matches or take the gum of the rack.

He doesn't steal today, but as for sleeping around or partying and drinking excessively, nothing in his mind tells him to stop. But he did inherit a few things from the man he has to call father. Vince's temper though is just plain weird. He isn't generally mad all the time, but he just bottles up his emotions all the time, but on occasion the shell seems to burst and he goes on a small rampage of anger that his father just might have been proud of. But he tries not to let that get in his way, especially with his friends and female companions. He tries to be happy and optimistic, but he finds that hard nowadays, even with his giant circle of friends.

Character's History:
Vince was born Kylen Vince Maldunno Junior on January third to his father, Kyle Maldunno Sr. and Adalena Boticelli. His parents were never married and they never bothered too. Although he didn't understand until later, Vince had actually been an accident and for that his father never took a liking to his first son. At the time his father had a decent job and so did his mother, so social contact was generally rare and Vince quickly developed a sense of independence. He was always closer to his mom than his dad, who at the time did not drink. When he wasn't at school Vince could be found at the playground or at football or baseball practice. He loved to run and he would find good use for this later.

At the age of two Vince was introduced to his next sibling, a brother who was born on February 4, Benito Kevin Maldunno. Looking back on this Vince wondered just how and why his parents stayed together that long to produce another child. His father still didn't warm up to the idea of a family. A lot of things were occurring in his family and life. The little known fact was that Vince's father was just a tad abusive. And soon his mother couldn't take it anymore. When Vince turned four his mother packed her bags and skipped town a couple of months later, and Vince wouldn’t understand that until much later either. At the time no formal explanation was given to him or his brother and when he tried to ask his father would get angry and push around his son. Turns out that Vince's father was an alcoholic and he would smack around his mother and she got tired of it and got smart and left, but couldn't take Vince or Benny with her.

Even at a young age, Vince had always been a fighter. Not one to pick fights, bullies would pick on him for he was short once and he was shorter than the others. But soon they learned to leave him alone for size meant nothing on the battlefield. His brother on the other hand was a bit of a wimp for a while and Vince would constantly have to stand up for his brother that was two years younger. So in a way Vince has a sort of resentment toward Benny, just because of all the stuff that Vince had to deal with at home with what was left of his family. His father turned to alcohol and drugs after his mother left, it seemed that in that cold heartless soul he had managed to have some feelings for her, at least that was what he claimed. But all the drugs, drinking and shady business that his father was involved in created a lot of tension and stress, so he turned to his new victims to prey on, his sons. The years passed by and the violence grew, Vince taking more of it than Benny because he was the oldest.

But still Vince went to school and pushed Benny to do so, maybe there was some hope for this quickly crumbling future. Most of the time Vince was out on the streets, pick pocketing and whatnot. Benny followed his older brother just for the sake of not going home. Some time in the summer after his eleventh birthday Vince had caught his father on his day off, which meant a bad day for him. And after running around the house for about thirty minutes and as he dashed for the front door, his father had caught him by the collar of his shirt and had flung him into the closet, not knowing that Vince had landed on a bunch of metal tools. One had happened to get in the shoulder and another one barely scraped his side. The next thing he knew he was in the hospital with a sober father and an innocent look on his face. When Vince questioned gave no explanation. The reason that Vince had been so scared was he was eavesdropping and learned about some shady business his father was involved with. His Italian heritage had left him connections to the mob, but Vince never told anyone.

A similar event occurred when Vince was thirteen and again his father would not take the blame. But at the time his father had gone up in his job and now was high up in the ranks of an engineering firm. So anything that Vince said could have a negative effect on his father. So Vince just lived life and during Junior High things had lightened up some, though his situation at home was the same, but at school he just started to change. Not that kind of change that comes with puberty, not only that but he just made more friends and girls took notice of him. Even at the time he was relatively lanky and slim but with muscle from his endurance. He even got a girlfriend, but that was more a fling in his eyes. But it did develop his habits that carry on today. By the age of fourteen, Vince was in eighth grade in the Little Italy of Maryland, and his brother was in the seventh grade. Both had experience what people don't normally experience, and they often talked in Italian to avoid eavesdroppers. Their closeness was immensely due to the circumstances of having nobody to turn too. Because Benny was too young to remember their mother.

Then one day his father was promoted somehow, probably through his connections and they had to relocate. To Los Angeles, California to be exact. While there the boys attended school, adjusted to the new enviroment and tried to live their horrible and pessimistic lives. Vince started to experiment with drugs and alcohol and Benny followed with the alcohol. And with some faults here and there in school and their father beating them senseless sometimes, Vince grew weary. The physical toll was obvious as he was a tall kid who was pretty skinny, though athletic, but the scars were endless and the tattoos were there just to cover it up. But all that would change one morning, at about six o'clock in the morning, Vince awoke to angry voices and the door being busted down. Seems that his father was in an argument with some dealer and then the cops decided to show up. Vince was nearly fifteen years old and he could still remember the churning in his stomach as he saw his father being led away in handcuffs, but it made him happy. Both he and Benny.

So they were moved to the Boarding School of Camden Academy for their own goods. At this school Vince started his freshman year, while Benny attended a nearby school until he was admitted his freshman year as well. Vince quickly developed a reputation as a rebel and just bad boy in general, his swinger habits followed him everywhere especially around midnight. And he was just a man sleeper. He matured more through the years and now has even grown a bit tired of his little brother, who was just a burden on Vince his whole life. Still they haven't seen his mother, but where shocked with a surprise about a year ago. Another sibling, yes they had a younger sister. As it turned out, Vince's mother hit town mostly because of the reason that she was pregnant, and his father had not known about it. Chances were he would have been infuriated.

So she escaped and moved to Italy with her family and raised a daughter all by herself. But Vince's mother battled depression and drugs herself, leaving Alana basically raised by her grandparents, in a warm and loving environment unlike what her brother's went through. So Vince and Benny resent her a bit for that, and her luck with her life. Still now Vince is a senior at Camden and is just cruising through, school not being that difficult because he has spoken Italian since birth. Comes in handy a lot actually, but he still manages a fail here and there plus suspensions and detentions, like a rebel would. And though he doesn't know it, Benny and Vince have tension because of the shadow his little brother is caught in. Now as his last year at high school goes on, he finds out that his father is out of Prison and this makes the boys nervous, but so far they ignore the fact as long as he doesn't appear at their doorstep.

Roleplaying Sample:
Vince paced around his dorm, over and over again. Everything just went through his mind. The prospect of him becoming a father just put a new perspective on everything, and just changed him almost immediately. The denial had made him sick and he just wanted to get drunk to get it out of his head and system. Vince didn't want a kid, more or less be a father. Tori wasn't his girlfriend, it had been a drunken one-night stand that now turned out an unwanted pregnancy. There was also the fact that he was nineteen years old, legal in every paperwork sense. And she was seventeen years old, a minor by legal sense. These things just don't work.

He left his dorm after a few hours of just straight thinking, it had made his head hurt and now he needed a drink and to complete his nightly ritual not matter what was going on. Even when the kid was older and a toddler or whatever Vince would be the same. A different woman every night and getting smashed half the time. What would his child think of their father? Just a drunk, stoned womanizer. What was that for a father? He drove slowly to the Cohiba Nightclub, not in the mood for reckless driving or getting in an accident. That was the last thing he needed. His mind just wasn't into it and neither was his heart. Vince arrived shortly after leaving his dorm.

Walking in he already felt a little better, the familiar sight, feel and scent of the club made him feel at home. Attendance on Vince's part was at an all time high, where he was friends with the bartenders and all that jazz. Walking to the bar the waitresses winked and smiled at him, some even told them they had a half an hour or so break later in the night. Kind of the F.Y.I. info they always gave him, there was a room by the bathrooms that was an unwritten V.I.P. room kind of thing, for the regular swingers like Vince. So he just flashed a smile back and continued his way to the bar. Once there he decided to start off a little stronger than normal. So he just got vodka, straight.

Had Tori been his girlfriend this all would have been completely different and not so blown out of proportion. In a committed relationship feelings would have been exchanged and unsaid vows of happiness. A baby would have been more accepted than it was at this stage. Though he probably would have reacted the same, except just different, maybe even excitement at the prospect of becoming a father. But it just wasn't like that. Vince wasn't looking for a committed relationship, or was he? Whatever the thought he just didn't trust someone enough for that. There were few people here that he completely trusted, one of them being Audrina Kramer.

She knew that Vince had finally knocked up a girl, one that wasn't his girlfriend or even friends with benefits for that matter. A few more were trusted more than the average person in Vince's life. It was just hard for him to do that. Though once he told you his story of where he came from then trust was just around the corner. As far as he knew Audrina, and Tori knew. And of course Linda, when they had dated. That had been an interesting time in his life, a very happy one at that. She lit up his day, but the relationship had just been sex. Not that he was complaining, because it was actually good too, but it wasn't worth a relationship with strings attached. Much more enjoyable without strings attached.

By this time he'd gone through three drinks, all varied of vodka, scotch and beer. Now he was nursing a simple beer. Not wanting to get hammered yet, wouldn't enjoy the night as much. He liked to be able to pay attention and avert his obvious gaze away from a woman's chest until he got her in his bed. But maybe he would be more careful in the future, not wanting another girl running to him claiming she held his lovechild. That was the last thing he needed. But what were his plans for the future? Get drunk. Get high. Have no strings attached sex. And live a very happy but possibly and likely short life.

His last conversation with Tori replayed in his head. They had gotten back on good terms, possible Vince going on this ride with Tori. Going on pregnant alone at seventeen was unlikely fun. But then he said that he didn't trust people. Well he didn't and now she was completely pissed off at him again. He wondered if the alarm was set at her house to ward him off. But she said that she had loved him. Tori had used that forbidden L-word. Four letters that suffocated in Vince's vocabulary and were never spoken from his mouth. It was weird because he had never been loved at all in his life, his father had nothing but spite and malice toward Vince and he felt the same. Maybe his mother loved him but his existence had resulted in his father in her death.

"f**k it all." He said as he downed another couple shots at once. His beer was still sitting there, occasionally he took a sip. Now he just wondered what the night would bring, hopefully someone to talk too. Someone he could trust, if not then.....just another pretty face to get in his bed. That was the least he could do tonight. Being well on his way to getting hammered he had no plans to visit Tori, that would be a bad idea at this point. After the few encounters they'd already had, the quick make-up and then the break-up course twice now. He'd gotten pissed off as she was at a bar with a friend of his and though he stood out in the rain. The impulse came over him to do something probably stupid.

His thoughts were borderline to purposefully doing something to himself that wasn't good. Everything was becoming a burden the pressure was overwhelming and he just couldn't take it anymore. Vince felt that he would crack under the pressure, and soon. Maybe there were some drugs around here, he knew that heroin and cocaine was often done in the back of the place and he was always welcomed. Maybe he would pay a visit tonight. Just maybe. He almost felt as if no one could help him, that it was useless to fight the deterioration and just give up. Vince couldn't be a father, he wasn't like that. And after his father had broken him physically and mentally, this bad-boy lifestyle was all he had.
